Classic adventure

This is close to movie perfection. A tight, fast-moving action-filled plot featuring a series of memorable set pieces, excellent characters - in particular Indiana Jones, perfectly cast and played with just the right mix of humour and bravery by Harrison Ford, superbly evil baddies, brilliant music by John Williams and super high-stakes adventure with an epic biblical feel. The story is set in the 1930s and is based on the hunt for the Ark of the Covenant - the box that contains the original 10 Commandments that makes any army that carries it invincible. It has been lost for 2000 years, but now the Nazis are looking for it and seem close to finding it. Indiana Jones travels to Egypt to stop them. He is introduced very cleverly in a short prologue where he is trying to get a golden statue from a temple in the Amazon and has to dodge a number of booby traps to reach it. From that beginning onwards, the film is totally gripping. I loved it!
