Given that I've seen the modern Batman films, all the technical aspects of Batman were understandably a tier below modern films. The sound effects were almost comical in a film with supposedly a dark theme. The lighting was inconsistent and the dialogue was questionable. However, Michael keaton was able to capture a solemn, nonchalant Bruce Wayne, a striking portrayal of a boy forced to be an adult at a young age. As a whole, I expected a nostalgic, endearing experience to watch a pioneering film of its time. However, I felt that it was lackluster and ultimately disappointing. It's very likely that I've been infuenced by the stunning visuals and the complex plots of superhero films today, however, I definitely recommmend this for people curious of how a genre was born.
