Ponyo is a story about a little boy called Sosuke that meets a little goldfish called Ponyo who makes a big change to her usual form, and become magical friends where they take their step in an ultimate adventure where it takes all sorts of spins and brings so much joy when watching their friendship bloom.

Ponyo made me laugh and was great to watch. Going into watch this film, I wasn’t greatly interested in Japanese anime or anime related films but this really changed my opinion and I would definitely be putting more of these styled films on my wish list! I greatly enjoyed the humour that the two lead characters and a few of the elderly characters brought.

I liked the graphics in this film as they were different to my usual animated watch and amazingly full of colour and warmth, I also loved the expression of characters. There is a great voice cast behind Ponyo also adding to the wonder of this film such as Liam Neeson, Noah Cyrus, Betty White and Tina Fey!

The uniqueness of this film also made it a great watch and was fun to see what happened as we went through the adventure. My friends and I were having a great time watching Ponyo and we all equally loved it. That is only the tip of the iceberg of things about this film so I definitely recommend you to order this for your film club and watch it! I can’t wait to watch another film similar to this very soon so it is definitely a big fat five stars!
