Some critics feel ‘The King’s Speech’ won Best Picture over more worthy nominees, but I maintain that it royally deserved to win. The performances from Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush are vibrant, the cinematography is imaginative and the writing is top-notch.

It does what all good underdog stories should, it immediately makes you root for the protagonist, understanding the immense obstacles facing them. The movie does a superb job of making a real life historical figure not only relatable, but also complex and vulnerable.

“The King’s Speech” is an entertaining and engaging watch that is definitely worthy of your attention.
