Calamity Jane

5 stars

27 Dec 2020

Yesterday was the 26th of December 2020 and I watched one of my favourite musicals but it is not my first favourite musical. My first favourite musical is called Singing in the rain, my second favourite musical is called The Sound of Music and my final favourite musical is this one that I am writing about which is called Calamity Jane. The film is all about Calamity Jane who is a 1953 American Technicolor western musical film which is loosely based on the life of Wild West heroine Calamity Jane, and explores an alleged romance between Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok in the American Old West. The film starred Doris Day as the title character and Howard Keel as Hickok. It also is about The boisterous Calamity Jane Canary, the Wild West heroine, who dresses like a man who goes a journey to help bring a star attraction to Deadwood and finds love in her best friend Bill. My favourite character would be her best friend bill because I thought he would be a more better man for her than the one she thinks she is in love with and that man is Lieutenant Danny Gilmartin but he is in love with Katie Brown but he is not very nice to Calamity Jane by not telling her the truth about his feelings for her that they are not love feeling. This film has been five stars which means I loved it because I love watching musicals but I have not seen them all yet. Thank you for reading my film review on the film Calamity Jane.
