The Incredible Hulk is a painfully average action-adventure superhero movie with a bunch of wasted potential. The film was released in 2008 apart of the early days of the marvel cinematic universe which has now grown to be over saturated and boring. Throughout its run time (1hour and 52 minutes) the film attempts to explore the themes of loneliness and responsibility. It does this by their portrayal of hulk and Bruce banner and how they must adapt to each other. The story follows scientist Bruce Banner, who desperately seeks a cure for the gamma radiation that contaminated his cells and turned him into The Hulk. Cut off from his true love Betty Ross and forced to hide from his nemesis, Gen Thunderbolt Ross, Banner soon comes face-to-face with a new threat: a supremely powerful enemy known as The Abomination. Edward Nortons acting cannot save this subpar script and terrible looking fight sequences. Edward Nortons acting is the strongest part about the movie. He is excellent at portraying someone who was a desperate man at the beginning trying to get rid of what he called a curse than by changing throughout the movie and learning to live with the hulk inside him. The antagonist, who is abomination played by Tim Roth, is disappointing. He is an evil version of the hulk with no differences, apart from his appearance. This leads onto my point that there are no unforgettable characters in the film, and all have little to no character development apart from Bruce banner. Overall, I think the film is subpar at best and is directed by Edward Norton. I was not a fan of CGI or the story of the film. Overall, I would not recommend the film to anyone unless you are fan of high action superhero films. The film gets a score of 4/10
