This murder mystery film, directed by Rian Johnson, is quite and enthralling film with the fact that it changes from Detective to Crime and then back again. It is based on when a patriarch of the Thrombeys is murdered at his 85th birthday bash. With Benoit Blanc involved in the solving, you never know if you are safe.

Knives out is a murder mystery and the setting proves this by the fact that the mansion is very like the one from Cluedo. The fog also shows that this is a mystery because usually in novels and film fog means something bad is about to happen. The fact that the dogs run about and bark at people show a menacing atmosphere and will create tension.

The camera angle tells us about how the Characters act and how they feel at the time. It shows Linda in the centre of the camera to prove that she is the most respected, it also shows power and dominance. It puts Joni to one side and at an angle to show that she isn't involved in the family as much. How we see Walt firstly, he is far away from the centre of the camera to prove he is nervous but as his confidence grows , he becomes more of the centre to the clip.

In conclusion, I think that this is a great detective film because of how it was shot, the great acting and is a film that you can get into.
