This is an animated film based on the life story of Raymond Briggs's parents Ethel and Ernest. The story starts in 1928 and introduces us to a character named Ethel, a lady's maid. She later becomes a housewife when she marries a man named Ernest who works as a milkman. The pair soon have a son named Raymond who is sent to live in the countryside when World War II begins.
My favourite scene was when Ethel said to Raymond, "Here's a comb" and Raymond started getting embarrassed because his girlfriend was over.
Print this reviewA magical, moving Christmas favourite based on the much-loved children's book about a boy who builds a snowman that comes to life.
