The Truman Show (1998)

The Truman show follows a man called Truman Burbank (Jim Carrey) who is the star of a reality TV show- he just doesn't know it. This is filled with dramatic irony, (a form of irony that occurs when the audience or reader knows something that the characters in a story do not know), and product placement (a marketing technique where references to specific brands or products are incorporated into another work). When Truman starts realising things aren't quite as they seem, the world watches on their TV's with bated breath. A very funny film I would recommend to anyone who enjoys comedy films.
