Hello Film Club members and welcome to the year of 1949 of my Disney movie Challenge where me and my sister watched a film called The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad on Tuesday which was the 4th of July 2023. Here is what the film is about When Disney brings two animated versions of 2 literary works to the screen here. The first is about 'The Adventures of Mr. Toad', which is based on the characters from Kenneth Grahame's 'The Wind in the Willows'.The story is about J. Thaddeus Toad, who is the owner of Toad Hall, until he is prone to fads, such as the newfangled motor car. This desire for the very latest lands him in much trouble with the wrong crowd, and it is up to his friends, Mole, Rat and Badger to save him from himself. Then we go into the second story which is about The Headless Horseman', in which schoolteacher Ichabod Crane,who falls in love with a young lady called Katrina Van Tassel. This is then where he attends a party hosted by her father. But a Town thug whose name is Brom Bones, who also has his eye on Katrina, tries to intimidate Ichabod with the chilling story of 'The Headless Horseman',who is a ghost of a soldier in the revolutionary war who lost his head in a fight. When Ichabod starts his ride home through Sleepy Hollow late at night, he finds himself confronted by the Headless Horseman who wants Ichabod's head for himself. Will Ichabod escape the terrifying, sword-wielding ghost....or will the Headless Horseman claim Ichabod's head for himself? The story is based on Washinton Irving. and it is his masterpiece. This review for The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad has been given only two stars which means I was not a fan because even though its a Disney film I did not rate Walt Disney's work on the film because I thought Walt Disney should of not made this film because there are better Disney films than this one but that is my own opinion on this film. So Film Club members I would not recommend this Disney film to others or you. My next two Disney films will be in the year 1950 they are called Treasure Island and Cinderella.
