The batman, a true masterpiece of our time a beautiful movie made by the likes of Matt reeves inspired my comic books such as batman: the long halloween and batman ego.
I saw this movie release day and it did not disappoint since then i’ve seen it an additional 13 times and for one reason and one reason only; it’s one of the best of all time.
Cinematography: the batman is filled with beautiful shots of Gotham, shots that are so dark in nature yet colourful and bright to the human eye, my favourite shot in movie history is probably from the batman. The scene in which he’s leading the group of people with a flare and they follow behind to safety. Every pixel on the screen captures my attention, i see beauty in Gotham by its own definition a place riddled with darkness and crime. The lighting in this film conveys a whole story on its own and that’s what makes it so beautiful, it’s almost like an art not even almost it is an art.
Plot, writhing, etc: Bruce Wayne, but his real name is Batman. We see a young batman in this picture particularly a year two batman, he’s still young, naive, vengeful and even though that’s what majority thought of batman, this movie changed peoples perception on him because by the end this figure of darkness a symbol of revenge had become light, justice and peace. I came to tears when i saw the final scenes in which he hands off and injured civilian to medics because it’s a polar opposite what we saw in the start a man who only did what he done because of pent up anger now realising he was not doing what he was doing for the right reasons. We see this in dialogue at the start the batman beats up a criminal and says “i’m vengeance” this shows us his motives and the darkness inside him, he’s angry but not at anyone but himself, “vengeance won’t change the past, mines or anyone else’s”. He never forgave himself after his parents deaths which led to a road of pain, in the end we see this resolved when he says “i have to become more, people need hope”. the shows is the change he’s had and how he realises that brutality and solving crimes isn’t the only way to save Gotham it’s justice and unity, hope.

A highly disturbing, but superbly made David Fincher film about a real-life killer who struck terror into San Francisco during the late 1960s.
