Kingsman The Secret Service

4 stars

07 Oct 2023

Hello and welcome to another one of Mark Strong's films as two of them I have also wrote reviews for and they were Green Lantern and Sherlock Holmes. So on Wednesday which was the 4th of October 2023 myself and the family watched a film which was like James Bond but only with a lot of bad language. The film was called Kingsman The Secret Service which is all about During a mission in the Middle East in 1997, where a probationary Secret Agent Lee Unwin sacrifices himself to protect his superior Harry "Galahad" Hart. At Christmas Hart, returns from the mission blaming himself for the death of Agent Lee so he decides to give Lee's widow Michelle and her young son Gary or "Eggsy" for short the news and he also gives a medal engraved with an emergency assistance number. Now seventeen years later, Eggsy having dropped out of training for the Royal Marines despite his intelligence and capability, has now become a trouble maker and got himself arrested for stealing a car. While in custody Eggsy calls the number and that is when Hart arranges his release. Hart then explains that he is a member of Kingsman which is a private intelligence service founded by wealthy British individuals who lost their heirs in World War I. Hart's code-named is "Galahad", and he explains there is a position available, as Agent "Lancelot" who was killed by the assassin Gazelle while trying to rescue Professor James Arnold from kidnappers. Eggsy is then chosen to become Hart's candidate for the role. Though out the training other candidates are eliminated by operative "Merlin" until only Eggsy and Roxy who is a young woman that he meets and made friends with at the start of the programme. They are the only ones left in the programme. So they both have one more task to face but Eggsy refuses to complete the final test, which was to shoot his Pug puppy which he has raised during the training process but he is unaware that the gun holds blanks so Roxy is named the new "Lancelot". This review has been given a four star rating which means I liked it because I would of gave it a five star rating but I had to drop one star because of the bad language that is throughout the whole film but apart from that the film was good and it also had a brilliant sound track. Thank you for reading my review on the film which is called Kingsman The Secret Service my next film is called MISS Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children which stars the actor Samuel L. Jackson as that is the actor that I have chosen to watch next. That is the end of my review I hope you all have a nice weekend.
