Nolan's mastery of storytelling given a proper budget

Memento is a drastic improvement to Nolan's Following, developing the key elements of non-linear structure he introduced to become a revolutionary modern age director. The story follows Lenny (Guy Pearce) suffering from Amnesia, on a quest to avenge his murdered wife in an unfamiliar landscape - where leeching individuals plot to take advantage of his crippling mental condition. It takes time to become acquainted with the meaning of the timeline and editing of each scene but then becomes predictable as the movie progresses. Nolan takes advantage of his style with a bookend and big reveal taking place chronologically in the heart of his movie.
