A confusing masterpiece

The movie ‘memento’ is a masterpiece that will leave you questioning. The film follows Leonard who is a man suffering with memory loss, trying to uncover the truth about his wife’s murder. The film was very unique as it has a non linear structure, creating a puzzle for the person watching. The cinematography created suspense throughout and kept me on the edge of my seat. Guy Pearce playing Leonard really brought the character to life and it was almost as if I could feel his frustration. I also really enjoyed this film due to the use of black and white and vibrant colours; I think this keeps us engaged throughout the entire movie. My favourite thing about ‘Memento’ is the way it is carefully crafted because of the timeline. I also thought it was intriguing how he had tattoos on his body to remind him about simple things in life, creating a semantic field of memory. I would definitely recommend this movie, it is a very good watch!
