Indiana Jones is KINDA AWESOME...

4 stars

31 May 2025

So Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I actually do have a bit of history with this movie, this is my first time watching a proper rated 12 movie as my dad would said to me how brave I was watching this movie.

So on re-watch and I just recently just watched Fountain of Youth (and Apple TV mocie which isn't good) and my god it's day and night, so without a further-a-do lets get into it:

This movie takes every good quality of an action movie, the actions are so iconic its incredible how it manage to be reference or parody for so many years because how cultural amazing the action scenes are.

There are so many nails bitting momments in this movie and I really appreciated the setups, like how on earth did Jones manage to get back to the truck while on ground with an injured arm. Every actions and character momments enhanced so brilliantly and that's thanks to John Williams score.

Though criticism out of the way, I wouldn't give this another star if only the characters are interesting. Now I wouldn't say they are poorly written or unlikeable but I bit simplistic for my taste (though everyone's performance is great and all have good chemistry).

Though I like Sallah, I can't be mad at him.

Jones is just kind of the hero stunt man, I also don't get why people say Malan is cool, really she kind of mostly play as the damsel in distress (which is a product for its time, mind you).

But what makes this movie so intriguing is the mysterious Ark, with the Biblical aspect to this and the characters did warn about how "dangerous" and "never to be open" and it builds up to the movie and pays off of the Nazi villains literally getting melted which amazing fits in the narrative so well.

Though for Lego Fans, sorry haven't able to play any of the games, another Lego franchise like Star Wars already filled the role.

Final Thoughts: I hate to cut this review short, simply because everyone already talk about this movie and how great it is, so I don't really much different to say.

So that's everything I got to say!
