After what was no doubt a welcome summer break for educators, September brings a very exciting update regarding Discover! Creative Careers, as well as a spotlight on handy resources and CPD for you to utilise across the new academic year.
Bookings for the eagerly-anticipated Into Film Festival 2025 will be going live on the morning of Wednesday 10 September, and to get you and your learners in the mood for spooky season, we're partnering with Futures for All and their Speakers for Schools programme to offer a special, fully remote work experience opportunity for students aged 14-19 called Spooky Screens: Explore Hidden Jobs in Film & TV.

2025 will see Into Film lead the Discover! Creative Careers programme in Scotland and Wales, delivering a wide range of exciting activities including industry visits and workshops, online and in-class talks and careers events at the Into Film Festival, our annual event that sees over 400,000 children and young people visit cinemas across the UK for free.
Join the Discover! Creative Careers Scotland team for a series of webinars taking place in September, sharing more information about the programme, how you and your students can take part and some of the exciting offers that will be available.

The Into Film Festival is the world's largest free youth film festival, and we can't wait to have you join us. This year's Festival will take place between 7-28 November 2025, and bookings will go live on the morning of Wednesday 10 September. The Festival provides free UK-wide screenings, special previews, filmmaking workshops, Q&As with filmmakers, and careers workshops. And the best part? It's entirely free!
Remember - places will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so add a reminder to your calendars now to ensure you don't miss out, as many events will book up very quickly.

This is a free online session for careers professionals and educators. The session will deepen your understanding of careers through the film and TV production process, equipping careers professionals and educators with the knowledge and skills to support young people aged 11-18 exploring screen career options.
Thinking of your CPD for the academic year ahead? Why not sign up for our short online course to discover the essential facts and latest trends to help young people aged 11-18 make informed decisions about pursuing a role in the screen industries.
You'll be guided through the different sectors that make up the screen industries and tackle some of the common queries that you'll come across in discussions with your students. You'll get the inside scoop on the range of roles on offer, key labour market information and the work the industry is doing to become more accessible to a diverse range of young people.
By the end of this short course, you will be able to:
From 29-31 October 2025, we are offering Spooky Screens: Explore Hidden Jobs in Film & TV, a fully remote work experience for students aged 14-19, in partnership with Futures for All's Speakers for Schools programme. This fully remote work experience will set students a challenge to remodel an existing children's TV show into a spine-chilling Halloween special, with support and insight from industry guests working in a range of film and TV roles.
