Far From the Madding Crowd interviews with director and cast

Based on Thomas Hardy's classic 1897 novel Far From the Madding Crowd was first filmed in 1967 and has been given a new telling by director Thomas Vinterberg. Our reporter Caroline went to meet Vinterberg as well as the film's stars Carey Mulligan and Matthias Schoenaerts, to discuss the physicality of their roles, the independent nature of the female lead and the difficulties of adapting the book to the screen.
