Protect Our Planet, created to celebrate the release of Aardman Animations and StudioCanal UK's A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon on October 18, is a cross-curricular resource written for teachers of young people aged 5-9. Inspired by the film's trailer and The Woolmark Company's Super Natural Wool campaign, it gives pupils the opportunity to investigate themes of sustainability and protecting our planet, raising their awareness of the benefits of natural materials such as wool, all set against the exciting backdrop of space.

Learners will work together to create woolly ‘pom pom' Shaun the Sheep-inspired models for use at the heart of a final role-play activity, with the option to turn it into their own stop-motion animation film. An exclusive top tips video filmed at Aardman Animations studios will help students learn how to animate along the way.

The project culminates in a Design a Sustainable Spacesuit competition to win an in-school workshop led by an Aardman model maker for your whole class!

The competition closes on 22 November 2019. For more information, download the resource below.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.

What our educators say

"As an alternative provision for learners who are not in mainstream school we use your resources in a slightly different way as they generally find it hard to watch a full length film. They are, however fantastic. "
