Meet the 'Hidden Figures' in our free preview screenings

Ahead of the release of 20th Century Fox's new Oscar®-nominated new drama Hidden Figures, we're hosting several preview screenings of the film at ODEON cinemas, which will be followed by a satellite-linked panel discussion (panellists TBC) further exploring the film's incredible true story and themes. Our preview screenings will take place on 9 Feb at locations across England, Scotland and Wales, giving you the opportunity to see this inspirational and untold story ahead of its release in cinemas on 17 Feb.

Hidden Figures tells the incredible, untold story of the African-American women that were at the heart of America's efforts to beat the Russians in the 'race for space' during the early 1960s. In a time when the civil rights movement was raging, segregation and intolerance were still the norm, and the team of African-American 'computers' - despite working for NASA and calculating incredibly complex mathematic equations - were still overlooked. Hidden Figures follows three of these women as their resolve, intelligence and resourcefulness eventually forces their superiors to take notice, and reveals the long-lasting impact that their contributions had during a key moment in American history.

Our preview screenings of Hidden Figures are taking place simultaneously at 10:00am on 9 Feb 2017, and are entirely free to attend for everyone - be they club members or not - but keep in mind that while the film is rated PG, we would recommend it is most appropriate for those aged 11+. The film will begin at 10:30am, and will be followed by a satellite-linked panel discussion at approximately 12:30pm for an hour.
