Family animation 'Missing Link' leads this week's new releases

Ambitious explorer Sir Lionel Frost is ridiculed by his peers for believing in myths and monsters the world over. When he discovers an 8-foot tall, lonely creature that can talk, he names him Mr Link and the duo set out, along with free-spirited adventurer Adelina Fortnight, to find Mr. Link's long-lost relatives. This visually stunning animation explores themes of displacement and loneliness whilst proving that sometimes family can be found in the most unlikely of places.

Also in cinemas this week is Shazam!, a new comedy-fantasy set in the DC Universe. Billy Batson is a streetwise 14 year-old living in Philadelphia who is transported into another realm and subsequently bestowed superpowers by a wizard. Saying ‘Shazam!' turns the teenager into an adult superhero faced with new responsibilities; For a more sinister experience, Pet Sematary follows a family discovering a mysterious burial ground that seems to bring the dead back to life, setting off a chain reaction that releases an unspeakable evil.

Ralph Breaks the Internet

Set six years after their initial adventure, Ralph and Vanellope are now good friends, having triumphed over the destructive Turbo and saved the arcade. But when the Sugar Rush steering wheel suddenly breaks, the two travel into the Internet via a newly installed Wi-Fi router in order to retrieve a replacement. This fun and ambitious video game crossover, which explores the many positive and negative aspects of modern technology, even features an appearance from all of the Disney princesses.
