Based on a true story, The Mercy stars Colin Firth as Donald Crowhurst, an amateur sailor who, in 1968, attempted to become the first person to single-handedly circumnavigate the globe without stopping. Neither adequately prepared nor qualified for such an extraordinary task, he soon runs into trouble and finds himself alone and adrift in the middle of the ocean, desperately trying to stay alive.

A terrorist attack in 2015 is foiled by three American backpackers (who are cast as themselves) in Clint Eastwood's latest thriller The 15:17 to Paris; animated sequel Tad the Lost Explorer and the Secret of King Midas is a globetrotting adventure in which archaeologist Tad Jones seeks to solve an ancient mystery; high-school comedy Status Update sees the new kid Kyle Moore gain popularity due to a magical app which makes his social media updates come true.
