What do you need in order to submit a film to the Into Film Awards 2024?
We have lots of useful information to support your submission, including filmmaking resources, an outline of the entry criteria for each category, and below you can find helpful submission information that outlines what information you'll need to have ready before submitting your entry.
Please remember that even after completing a submission, you will still be able to return to your entry and edit it right up until the Into Film Awards entry deadline of 23:59 on Sunday 31 March 2024.
Please note - you must be aged 20 or over to submit an entry to the Into Film Awards. If you are aged 19 or under, please ask a parent, guardian, or educator to submit your entry. You can also read our terms and conditions.
Key dates
- The entry deadline: 23:59 on Sunday 31 March 2024
- This date is final and there will be no extensions provided. The system will automatically prevent submissions after this deadline.
- The Into Film Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday 25 June 2024
- The shortlisting will take place in April 2024, and we will communicate with entrants in May 2024 as to whether they have been successfully nominated.
Submitting an entry
- Entries are submitted via our submissions platform at: https://awards.intofilm.org.
- Please make sure all personal details are entered accurately, including contact details.
- You may enter more than one category, as long as the work submitted meets the entry criteria.
- You can use the ‘copy' feature on the submissions platform to create a copy of an existing entry, and then change the category and other details as required.

Standard for all Into Film Awards entries
As standard, each Into Film Award entry requires the following information:
- Entrant details: The first and last name of the person submitting the entry, where in the country they are based, their organisation name, and their contact details (email, telephone).
- Film details: If entering a filmmaking category, you will be asked to provide the title of the film, a short synopsis, and the length of film (max 10 minutes, including titles and credits). We will also for the first names only of the young filmmakers who created the film, some background information about the filmmaking process, and confirmation that any music used is compliant (all films MUST use copyright-free music or have permission from the copyright holder). You will also be able to add in a poster or behind-the-scenes image to support your entry (these will not be considered when judging).
- Supporting documents: You will have the opportunity to add any other documents that you feel will help to support your entry (you can upload as many files as you'd like).
- Consent forms: You should have signed consent forms for everyone aged 18 and under that appears in the film, and will be asked to confirm that you have not used any copyrighted materials in the film, and that you have read the Into Film terms and conditions.
Ones to Watch
You can nominate for this category. This year, the Ones to Watch prize includes an opportunity for some career progression development and the overall ‘Ones to Watch' winner will also receive a cash prize of £1,000.
In addition to the above standard information, Ones to Watch entrants will be asked to provide the name and age of the One to Watch they're nominating, the school or organisation they attend, and some information about why they qualify as a One to Watch. This could include what have they achieved in and through their filmmaking, or in other aspects of the screen industries, or what sets them apart.
Filmmaking Champion
You can nominate for this category. In addition to the above standard information, Filmmaking Champion entrants will need to provide the name of the person they are nominating, and tell us about where the prospective filmmaking champion runs their filmmaking projects. You'll be asked to provide information about the young people that are served by the filmmaking champion (i.e. the number of young people, whether they face any challenges or barriers, or any other special circumstances), and explain why the person being put forward deserves the title of 'filmmaking champion'.
What sets them apart? What have they achieved? What's special about their approach to filmmaking with young people? What positive changes do their filmmaking projects have on young people (i.e. an increase in wellbeing, developed skills, increased confidence, sense of community, creativity etc.)
Please note: entries can be by / for a single individual or a small team who work together to champion filmmaking. You can enter on behalf of yourself or put others forward.
Audience Choice
Voting for the Audience Choice award will commence on Into Film's social media channels once nominees in the other categories have been shortlisted.
