Synopsis

All her life, 11 year-old Anna has acted as a donor sibling - helping keep her older sister Kate, who suffers from leukemia, healthy. But when their mum Sara asks Anna to donate one of her kidneys to save Kate's life, Anna refuses, and goes to court to fight for medical emancipation from her family - although all is not what it seems. Adapted from Jodi Picoult's best-selling novel, this shocking tearjerker addresses some very controversial issues.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
