Synopsis

How do you feel about the place you grew up in? Is it the place where you belong - or somewhere you dream of escaping from? In this drama, Freddie, Bruce and Snork are desperate to get away from their hometown just outside of Reading, but time is passing since they finished school and they haven't gone anywhere. It's written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who (mostly) put aside the comedy approach of Extras for a convincing recreation of a moment in life when many of us expect excitement - but aren't always willing to take risks to make something happen.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
