Synopsis

We all talk about the credit crunch, but how many of us actually understand what happened to cause 2008's global financial meltdown? And what does it mean for our future? For anyone who's not an economics expert, this smart Oscar-nominated documentary, narrated by Matt Damon, does a fine job of answering these questions in an entertaining, accessible and frequently jaw-dropping way. Featuring interviews with key financial insiders, politicians, academics and journalists, the film traces how the global financial crisis - which cost the world over $20 trillion and lost millions their jobs - came about, and asks who was to blame. This is essential viewing for anyone interested in how the world really works.
