Synopsis

Comic book icon Superman goes back to his roots in this meaty origins tale that takes a modern and more realistic look at his mythology. An epic journey of self-discovery, the franchise reboot mixes thrilling action with emotional depth, as 20-something journalist Clark Kent (buff Brit actor Henry Cavill) struggles to figure out his place in life — and how to handle his incredible powers that have alienated him since childhood. Having been sent to Earth in his infancy from his birth-planet Krypton and then shaped by his adoptive parents' strong moral values, Clark feels increasingly responsible for his new world's safety. So when humanity is faced with annihilation, Clark must finally embrace his inner-hero and become the 'Superman' he was destined to be.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
