Heavily influenced by the comedian Jacques Tati, this is a charming, unusual love story set in rural France, with an infectious Latin American vibe. Fiona and Dom are two teachers working in the same school, with a passion for taking part in - and winning - local dance contests. Driving home from their latest triumph one night, they swerve to narrowly avoid a suicidal man in the road, resulting in a serious accident; Fiona losing her leg and Dom his memory. What sounds morbid is actually a charming, often silly and rather touching story with some extraordinary physical performances and toe-tapping music that will have you reaching for your dancing shoes.
Ingenious and heartfelt homage to silent era cinema.
