9th century China. Nie Yinniang has been kidnapped and raised as an assassin since the age of 10 by Jiaxin, a nun who hones Yinniang’s deadly skills and uses them against corrupt politicians. However, when Yinniang is found to falter in her duties by showing mercy to a target, Jiaxin is enraged and sets Yinniang an even more difficult challenge as punishment. Tasked with returning to her hometown,Yinniang must carry out a hit against Tian Ji’an, the military commander of the area, to whom she was formerly engaged. Stunning cinematography make this martial arts epic a visual treat.
