Two mysteriously interconnected stories are told simultaneously despite being set fifty years apart, each following the journey of a child. In 1927, a deaf girl named Rose runs away from her father’s home in an attempt to track down her mother, a famous actress. In 1977, a recently orphaned mute boy from Minnesota embarks on a similar quest in search of his father. Their separate but somehow interlinked adventures will lead them to connections and discoveries which will change their lives in magical ways. Adapted from a book by the author of ‘Hugo’, this coming-of-age tale is a love-letter to silent cinema.
