Piper is a small bird who lives on a beach with its mother. The time has come for Piper to forage for its own food, and so its mother tries to encourage it to do so, despite the scary waves of the sea and the unknown environment that surrounds them. Piper is initially reluctant to do so, wishing to continue with the comfortable scenario of its mother finding its foot, but soon realises that it must confront its fears.
