Synopsis

This narration-free but highly cinematic documentary, which boasts incredible images from around the world, focuses on the impact of water on both humanity and the environment. Settings captured include the precarious frozen waters of Russia’s Lake Baikal, Miami in the midst of Hurricane Irma, and Venezuela’s mighty Angel Falls, painting a profile of water’s power in its many forms. ‘Aquarela’ is also a testament to climate change, highlighting the way in which humankind impacts with the natural world, as well as vice versa.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
