Twenty-eight days after a deadly virus escapes a research laboratory in the United Kingdom, a man named Jim wakes up in an abandoned hospital, completely unaware of the horror and destruction that has taken place during the time he spent in a coma. Making his way through a desolate London, he soon realises that those who have become infected are now monstrous creatures, fuelled by rage. When he does finally find survivors looking for sanctuary, Jim will be forced to question whether a normal life will ever be possible again. Now considered to be a classic of British horror that reinvented the zombie genre, Danny Boyle’s film was one of the first to use digital cameras and retains a gritty and dark look to match its sinister and provocative themes regarding British society.
very strong language, strong violence, bloody images, horror, sexual threat
