David and Georgina are a middle-aged, divorced couple whose marriage ended 20 years earlier and who now can’t stand each other. Their daughter Lily is the only thing that brings them together and they’re both proud to see her graduate from college. Ahead of Lily embracing working life, she decides to take a vacation to Bali alongside her friend Wren. After their snorkeling adventure goes awry, they are rescued by a Balinese seaweed farmer named Gede who immediately hits it off with Lily. A month later, David and Georgina receive an email from their daughter who informs them that she’s getting married and has decided to give up her legal aspirations. Her parents are stunned and, convinced that Lily is rushing into things like they did, decide to form a temporary truce to sabotage the wedding preparations from within.
