Lori is a talented visual arts graduate from Central St Martins, but nowadays she works in a food truck and does some occasional art restoration. An old friend from university gets in touch with a shady but lucrative job: to complete a series of half-finished paintings by her father, the renowned and highly temperamental artist Julian Sklar, which will be worth millions after his death. Since abandoning his much-acclaimed series ‘The Christophers’, Julian has made it his mission to criticize the pretentiousness of the art world. Posing as a keen new assistant, Lori gains access to Julian’s home-based studio, but when Julian uncovers the forgery plot, an unexpected sense of complicity develops between the two artists. A sharp and witty comedy that questions the value of art and popular culture, with refreshing portrayals of mentorship and creativity.
