Synopsis
When the Thompson family move from London to the countryside, siblings Beth, Joe and Fran are less than thrilled by their new home, which is cut off from modern technology. However, their attitude begins to change when the youngest and quietest child, Fran, meets a fairy called Silky, who invites her to a tea party in the nearby woodland. Here, there is an enormous enchanted tree, whose branches are filled with eccentric and funny characters, hidden homes and a ladder that leads to ever-changing magical realms above the clouds. Joined by her brother and sister, Fran returns again and again to the Magic Faraway Tree and every visit brings a new surprise, from birthday wishes to unexpected misadventures, while back home they find themselves reconnecting with their imagination too. Based on Enid Blyton’s much-loved books, this warm family fantasy uses creative world-building to explore themes of bravery, curiosity and adapting to change.
