It's a new academic year, and high school sweethearts Nick and Charlie are happier and closer than ever. While Nick prepares to leave home for university, Charlie is voted Head Boy on an anti-bullying campaign, determined that no other student should suffer the homophobia that made his junior years at school so difficult. But as unspoken anxieties about Nick's impending departure grow, old demons begin to test their relationship and confidence. Meanwhile, their friends Tao, Elle, Tara and Darcy face turning points of their own, such as diverging ambitions for the future and the uncertainty of first love. Together, the group must learn that growing up does not mean leaving people behind, as it can also mean finding new ways to look after each other. Based on Alice Oseman’s young adult LGBTQ+ graphic novel series and bringing the much-loved coming-of-age story to an emotional conclusion, this heartwarming drama explores relatable issues including identity, friendship, mental health and the excitement and anxiety of moving forward.
