Synopsis

When an idealistic scout leader from Montana is recruited by two spineless and greedy legislators as the state's new senator, he arrives in Washington full of plans and is dazzled by his surroundings. Soon, he comes face-to-face with the reality of widespread corruption and cynicism in politics - but is determined to hang onto his principles. This is one of the greatest films to come out of Hollywood's golden era, and will certainly make you think about how much your government is actually doing for you.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
