Sanjuro is the sequel to master Japanese director Akira Kurosawa's much-loved Yojimbo - and is just as much of a treat for lovers of samurai film. An essentially light-hearted film, but one that still features plenty of thrilling sword fights, the story finds the scruffy and cynical Sanjuro taking a group of naive young samurai under his wing as he teaches them the way of the ronin. Soon enough, the whole crew are called into action to save an honest official and his family from kidnappers - and it's now that the lessons Sanjuro has been teaching his young apprentices really begin to come into their own!
