Somewhere between a documentary and a fictional movie, this wonderful film from the central Asian country of Mongolia has non-actors basically playing themselves in a story that is typical of their daily lives. The story begins with the birth of an incredibly rare white calf to a camel that belongs to a group of nomads. But for all its beauty, the mother will not feed the baby camel, leaving it fighting for life. Finally, the nomads decide that they must help save the youngster themselves. This is an incredibly uplifting movie about a way life as different to that in modern Britain as you could find.
