One of the great collaborations in cinema history, L'Age d'Or unites the imaginations of surrealist film-maker Luis Bunuel and artist Salvador Dali. A sinister but poignant chronicle of a couple's struggles to consummate their relationship in the face of a series of obstacles put up both by society and the Church, the film was condemned for many years. It later became celebrated for the sceptical eye it casts towards "civilised" values, and is one of the benchmarks of surrealism on film.
Contains some violence, sex and scenes of a disturbing nature.
