The problems (and tragic coincidences) of living in an ever-more connected world are explored this tough and inventively-structured drama. Babel is often bleak in its message, but all of the stories are gripping in their own right, and the connections are sometimes stunning, even if you don't buy into the broader conclusion. A big-name cast - including Brad Pitt - does terrific, vanity-free work. Some dialogue is subtitled.
Famed indie director Jim Jarmusch presents five stories, each centring on a cab ride at night in LA, New York, Paris, Rome and Helsinki.
