Synopsis

In the final race of the season, three rival cars compete to win the Piston Cup. Strip “The King” Weathers is a seven-time champion looking to win the trophy once more before retirement; Chick Hicks always finishes runner-up and is determined to finally win; and Lightning McQueen is the new car on the block, a talented but arrogant rookie who wants to make a name for himself. As Lightning McQueen eagerly sets off for California, where the race is taking place, he falls out the back of the trailer transporting him and finds himself in the rundown desert town of Radiator Springs. During his time there, Lightning slowly begins to bond with many of the town’s residents and learns about the value of friendship ahead of his crucial race. ‘Cars’ is a heartwarming film about friendship, teamwork, and community.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
