Synopsis

Set during the era of "Prohibition" when alcohol was illegal in the US, Scarface follows the rise of the ruthless Tony Carmonte through the ranks of Chicago's crime organisation. But for audiences at the time, the title was a giveaway that the film was really based on the life of America's most famous gangster - "Scarface" Al Capone.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
