Synopsis

One of the best-loved westerns of all time, this is one of those films where the epic themes match the epic landscape. It tackles hero-worship, courage (not just to fight but to choose not to) and greed within a tense, gripping story of a farmer whose livelihood is threatened by a local cattle baron who wants his land. When the mysterious Shane arrives, it looks certain that he will have to choose a side - whatever the consequences.
