Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr Seuss, wrote wildly offbeat children's stories (most famously The Cat in the Hat) where gentle lessons, and even the odd subversive message, were illustrated in his colourfully anarchic style. The Best of Dr Seuss is an animated compilation of three of his tales: Horton Hatches the Egg is the entertaining Looney Tunes-style debut of the ever-optimistic elephant seen in 2008's Horton Hears a Who!; and the lesser known The Butter Battle Book and Daisy Head Mayzie.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
