I think that war of the worlds is a very good movie. It has been cleverly ajusted to suit the modern setting eg: the tripods war cry in the book goes "booo am ba beu" (or something like that) and the new movie turns that into a loud deep horn like noise. Also, in the book they meet "the mad monk" who they hide with from the tripods, in the movie they d meet a guy (look at the background image, the guy on the far right) and the directer gives a subtle hint to him being the monk as he is wearing a cross and they meet in the same way (running and hiding). All in all, i totally enjoyed watchinng war of the worlds and would recomend it to any sci-fi action lover. Finally, as i feel no reveiw is complete without at least 1 bad point, i think the film is a bit slow to get started (this could be because most of my favirite mvies launch straight into action) but when i does get going it is hard to stop watching and you really hate having to stop to go to the loo. I would rate it 4/5
