Science Fiction and Fantasy
Sci-fi movies experienced a boom in the 1950s and this remains one of the enduring classics. Miles Bennell is a respected doctor who discovers that people in his small Californian town are being replaced by identical-looking aliens. The only characteristic betraying these pod people is their complete lack of emotion. McCarthy's frantic efforts to stop the spread of these impostors look hopeless as more and more succumb - and that's where this film really excels in generating its paranoid tension.
More comedic remake of the spooky 1975 drama in which a newcomer to a small town notices the women strangely accept anything their husbands say.
