Brazil is the greatest of Terry Gilliam. Why? It contains a haunting concept which Gilliam cleverly tackles an idea made by Orwell in 1984, one of the greatest books ever written and is an extraordinary example of a magnificent satire, in which the true essence of satire steps forward and Gilliam recreates a disgraceful reality that you can only escape by insanity. It showcases an unpleasant dystopian world and simply criticises the corrupt present we live in. Jonathan Pryce boosts a great step in his career, playing the protagonist Sam, a government employee, who’s only hope is his imagination as he continuously experiences surreal dreams of saving a damsel with wings.
