Monster in Paris is a 2011 movie directed by Bibo Bergeron and is part of the category of foreign movies. The plot of the film was: a hopeful yet cocky scientist created a giant flea! And this creature has to take refuge in a night club where his hidden talents are revealed, imposing the question.. can we judge a book by its cover (as the metaphor goes)?
Throughout this film we see the hopeful romance between some of the characters which I think represents each of the character’s vulnerabilities in finding love and the personal journeys they go on throughout the film. And the story and plot overall where very creative and kept me interested.
However, i walked away with some criticisms. The animation was questionable, including head and neck size (although this was probably in light of the style of animation used). And to be honest the ending for me was what let the movie down, it was a solid film until the predictably sunk in and then it just became a little unneeded.
The music was mostly sung by one of the characters in the night club, which brought a sophisticated vibe to the film which personally I quite enjoyed! The music contrasted the action in the scenes which set aside those moments and made them stand out more. Overall though, this was a generally good movie and one of which I would watch again as the story was intriguing and powerful.
