Short (1-4 activities)

Inspired by Kisilu, the Kenyan climate activist featured in the powerful documentary film Thank you for the Rain, this series of resources and activities provide a framework to inspire and support young people to take action about issues that affect their world.

Toolkit Part One: Global Citizenship - Connect and Collaborate

Encourages students to consider their connections to others and to the planet in order to assess their responsibilities as a global citizen in an increasingly interconnected world.

Toolkit Part Two: Democracy - Hear and Be Heard

Focuses on exploring the UK's democratic system and how young people can influence the future for themselves and others all over the world.

Toolkit Part Three: Climate Change - Model and Motivate

Students find out more about the importance of trees in Africa and how they could change the world for all of us, forever. Linking to impacts upon climate change, food production, water scarcity, women's rights, migration, and children's education, this section encourages students to take small steps towards positive activism.

Toolkit Part Four: Making It Happen - Energise and Empower

This section offers ideas about how to think differently about gifts for yourself and others, and the impact they could have upon both the environment, and the lives of others.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.

What our educators say

"Film is totally part of the curriculum throughout all subjects, at both Key Stages 3 and 4. We couldn't teach here without film!"
